A great and charming Arts & Crafts oak "four beastie" plant holder base with it's original "Cairoware" Islamic style brass planter; c1890
Liberty & Co at the time imported many pieces of Islamic style brassware from Egypt and Syria to incorporate in their Arts & Crafts furniture pieces; the Moorish & Islamic style being very fashionable then and now.
Coincidentally, this same piece is also illustrated in the archive image alongside the John Ednie of Wylie & Lochhead fireplace which we have just added as well!
