An exceptionally rare & important Glasgow Style Arts & Crafts iron firegrate or firebasket,
designed by John Ednie of Wylie & Lochhead of Glasgow.

Specially commissioned for "Birkenward", Skelmorlie, Ayrshire in Scotland.
The interior of that house was remodelled by Ednie c1904.

Beautifully designed, with tall sunflower "dogs" each housing a blue-green coloured glass seedhead.
Classic Ednie design to the fireback as well.

This is THE same actual one as in the archive images.

Approx 54" widest at base, 28" overall depth and 31" high at back.
