A supremely rare Arts & Crafts oak architectural clock designed by Charles Francis Annesley Voysey; c1902.
Made for him by Frederick Coote, with an inlaid stylized pewter dial
(in Voysey designed lettering and numbering) reading "Tempus Fugit" (Time Flies).
Tapering rectangular main body on flared feet, with a coffered roof that is surmounted by a slender tapering finial.
The original design for the clock was for Voysey's own house, The Orchard at Chorleywood.
That was one of the painted versions ones (with a stylised landscape);
one of which is in the collection of the V&A Museum in London).
The same design was later made in cast aluminium by WH Tingey.
Historically thought to have been retailed through Liberty & Co albeit in extremely low numbers,
as very few have surfaced in the open market, but recent new research identified Heals as the retailer.
Approx 19" tall .
