Pair of richly carved animal dog panels

A superb quality and fabulous pair of richly carved over door panels; possibly mid 19thC or earlier.

These would have been originally designed to go over a lavish pair of internal doors (remnants of door lock recesses present).
Slight deliberate differences to each design; a left hand side and a right hand side one.

NB: these are very heavy and should not be hung on a wall now, as fragile backs.
They are deep enough to stand up on their own and should be displayed as such or similar arrangement.

Each approx 46" wide, 12" height, 3" depth (very minor differences to each)
