Rare early Mouseman dining table
A superb and rare early example c1930s, possibly even earlier, adzed oak (up to 8 seater) Robert (Mouseman) Thompson dining table of octagonal form (the shape that Robert Thompson himself preferred), on shaped cruciform central base and rounded edges/corners to the feet (a design feature of earlier pieces). Peg joints to top. Beautifully carved trademark mouse to base. Of excellent quality timber and wonderfully rich patinated colour – one of the best pieces of early Mouseman we have seen.
diameter: 4ft 6”
Works well also as a large centre or hall table.
