Wylie & Lochhead Glasgow Style hall seat

A good stylish example of a Glasgow Style/School oak hall seat of linear upright form, very much in the manner of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and John Ednie, with the square piercings to back.
Although unmarked, we have seen with a Wylie & Lochhead of Glasgow label in the past and we had one of these examples before.
It complements the classic (and more commonly seen) Glasgow School oak magazine stands, illustrated in " The Glasgow Style" by Gerald & Celia Larner.
Beautiful squat form and stylised cut-outs to sides which act as carrying handles. Circa 1900.
Approx 37" high, 21" wide and 15.5" deep.
