An original watercolour, pen & black ink, design for a stained glass window; of a blackbird welcoming in the dawn, by Ernest Archibald Taylor (1874-1952), artist & architect-designer, notably associated with Wylie & Lochhead of Glasgow. He was married to the equally famous artist-designer, Jessie Marion King.
Signed lower right with his initials “E.A.T.”
Provenance : originally from the sale of Miss Merle Taylor (his daughter) held by Sotheby’s in Glasgow on 21st June 1977, lot 368.
