A rare and stunning example of a very large (30" diameter) copper arts & crafts charger at its best;
attributed to John Pearson of the Guild of Handicraft and later Newlyn, followed by his own workshops in London,
where he supplied Liberty & Co as well as Morris & Co.
Unmarked but many examples of his work were possibly as commisions he executed for Liberty & Co
or for friends and would not have had his stamped mark.
Beautiful typical galleon and sun motifs. Circa 1900.
STOP PRESS: Newly discovered research suggests that this may well be by the very talented Annie Williams of FiveMiletown (John William's sister); so even rarer!
