A superb & rare pair of architect designed oak upholstered chairs by John Ednie (1876-1934) for Wylie & Lochhead of Glasgow; c1903.
Unusual curved wide back uprights, terminating in exquisitely carved octagonal domed finials and further floral carving to seat area.

John Ednie, along with Ernest Archibald Taylor and George Logan, were the leading triumvirate of designers
for Wylie & Lochhead at the time, responsible for their best output.
