An extremely rare and important Arts & Crafts two door music cabinet on stand, designed by, arguably,
the greatest British Arts & Crafts architect-designer,
Charles Francis Annesley (CFA) Voysey , (1857-1941);
complete with it’s original CFA Voysey designed key. 

h: 51” d: 21.5” w: 50.5” 

This is a one-off commissioned piece, a music cabinet, for his client 
JW Gwyn Esq , of 8 Netherhall  Gardens, Hampstead, London NW3, c1910.
The original plan drawing on linen, signed and dated July 14th  1910,
is held in the  Drawings Collection of the Royal Institute of British Architects,
now held at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London; RIBA catalogue ref: SB114/VOY[200](1-2)

Door furniture by Bainbridge Reynolds as specified in the original  drawing.
Shelved interior and fully boarded finished (mahogany) back; the whole on typical chamfered octagonal legs;
a keynote quality detail seen in many of Voysey’s designs. 

    PREVIOUSLY EXHIBITED AT BLACKWELL, THE FAMOUS ARTS & CRAFTS HOUSE IN THE LAKE DISTRICT.
    Further references in Voysey’s “ White Book”, “ Black Book” and his address book,
all held at the RIBA/V&A Museum in London , archives.

Commissioned pieces are the scarcest of items designed by CFA Voysey, and rarely, if ever, come on to the open market.
