Superb example of a Glasgow Style silkwork cushion cover designed by one of the famous "Glasgow Girls" Jessie Newberry (1864-1948) ; with insciption (after William Blake) "Under Every Grief and Pine Runs A Joy With Silken Twine"; c1900.
Approx 16" by 12".
A linen version is housed at the Glasgow Museums and Art Galleries (illustrated on p149 of the book, "Glasgow Girls" by Jude Burkhauser.
