Another excellent and unusual example of the work of Arthur Simpson of Kendal; c1910.
Superbly and intricately carved quarterswan oak Arts & Crafts partners desk,
with practical bookshelf recesses to each side complete with his customary also carved dust flaps.
What is unusual is that it is of normal desk proprotions but designed as a partners desk, so equally beautiful front and back,
with central long drawer flanked by drop down mini filing sections above small drawers.
Superb metalwork likely to be by Rathbone.
