Superb, rare and unusual colourway, Newlyn small enamel shell shaped pendant (with later silver chain) c1900.
Exquisite array of brillaint colours comprising yellows, browns, pinks, greens all fused brilliantly together. The Newlyn workshops were more famously known for their copperware output but they also produced (in relatively small quantities) their beautiful enamel jewellery, mostly by Francis Charles Clemens (1890-1950). Unmarked examples especially with rare colourways like this were probably commissioned pieces.
