Rare previously untraced Charles Rennie Mackintosh sideboard

One of our most exciting rediscoveries recently was an extremely rare and previously missing & untraced (one of two) oak sideboards
by Charles Rennie Mackintosh!

For either WJ Bassett-Lowke (Candida Cottage) or his brother-in-law FM Jones
Northampton, England.

A unusual and strong modernist design; quite different and radical from his earlier recognisable Glasgow Style.
Fairly plain in style but a bold strong design and utilising the most modern materials in the form of an organic milk protein (casein) based form of early plastic, known as Erinoid or Galalith (aka Radolith); newly used in toy manufacture and costume jewellery.
The striking blue-green Radolith incorprated into the design sets it off beautifully.
