A medium sized stunning Arts & Crafts style lustreware ceramic bowl by Alan Caiger-Smith (1930-2020)
Approx 8.5" wide and 3.25" high.
Worked by his foreman Edgar Campden possibly with Michael Mosse in assistance.
AC-S was born in Buenos Aires in 1930.
He studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and read history at King's College, Cambridge (1949-1952).
He trained in pottery at the Central School of Art & Design in 1954 under Dora Billington
and then later established the Aldermaston Pottery in 1955 until 1993, after which he worked alone.
Excellent provenance; this bowl was personally gifted in the 1980s to the previous owner's mother by Alan Caiger-Smith himself.
