A superbly carved, highly unusual & truly magnificent early 20thC Arts & Crafts/"Tudorbethan" style, small double bed of imposing proportions and presence. Richly carved throughout expecially the whole of the footboard, depicting a scene from Shakespeare`s Henry VIth Part I.

); a well known genre artist & illustrator, best known for his paintings of landscapes, portraits and military scenes. He was also a very keen collector of antique oak furniture and renowned expert of old oak furniture; his books on the subject are still used and referenced today. His carved signature cartouche lower left of footboard.
