Arts & Crafts Cambridge bookcase
An Arts & Crafts tall, narrow, open bookcase in oak, of compact proportions; strong tapering form with overhanging top; index shelf to the side and “Cambridge University heraldic shield” to the front, c1907-8. These were apparently originally made for the University to house some copies of the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
A similar example (minus the shield) was exhibited in the Liberty Arts & Crafts exhibition of 2005.
