Thomas Jeckyll brass ash pan
A good example of a brass (with iron interior) ashes pan (Model 850) by the famous architect designer Thomas Jeckyll (1827-1881) and made by Barnard, Bishop and Barnards of Norwich c1878. Typical Aesthetic Movement Japanese influenced design. These came in varying sizes and this is one of the larger ones made, at approx 24" wide, 4.75" deep and 2.25" high exc handles. Also works very well as a mini planter/jardiniere!
