Another rare Russian Arts & Crafts wooden (possibly pine or birch) casket with applied patinated beaten copperwork; c1900.
Polychrome painted/penwork featuring a jolly feasting or wedding scene, plus knights on horseback, castles; similar to those from one of the Skazky fairy folk tales famously illustrated by Ivan Bilibin, the Russian illustrator and set designer.
Possibly Abramtsevo or Sergiev Pasad
Partial label on the base, possibly that of the Peasant Art Industries shop that was in Bond St, London at the time.
Also, some numbers on each side, possibly 501 and 810.
Approx 11" wide, 6" highest and 6" depth.
