Superb Arts & Crafts Gothic Revival mid-Victorian oak and iron clad letter post box; c1852.
Very much in the manner of Pugin with the carved lettering, 1852 date and quality Gothic ironwork hinges and handles.
Can be table top or wall hung (with its original iron square head screws for wall hanging).
Supplied with a new key.
Provenance: by repute, originally purchased at a Country House sale (Maer Hall in Staffordshire) back in the 1960s
Approx 12.5" wide, 6" depth and 11" overal height.
