An exquisite, very unusual and rare mahogany arts & crafts bedside or tea tray table top, small cabinet by William Birch of High Wycombe, almost certainly for Liberty & Co; designed by EG Punnet circa 1903. Stunning pewter and copper inlays to both front and back with the most exquisite CFA Voysey style elongated shape pewter door knob. Original internal pull-out drawer and original removable two handled tray with its protective glass insert. A superb piece.
Approx 28" high, 25" wide and 17" deep.
Illustrated in the William Birch ledgers/catalogue of the time. Similar but with different handles was shown at the annual Liberty Arts & Crafts Selling Exhibition in 1985.
