A well patinated copper Arts & Crafts strapwork hinge by CE Thompson (stamped), very much in the manner of  the famous metalworker & designer, Richard Llewellyn Benson Rathbone (1864-1939) for whom it is believed he also worked/trained with; c1900. 

Approx 12" long and 4.5" at widest point. 

The Wolfsonian Museum in Florida have a simlar and complete set of hardware examples by CE Thompson in their collection;

Charles Edward Thompson (b. 1869) was an art metalworker and architectural draughtsman, born in Liverpool.
Amongst other work, he won commissions for plaques and other metawlwork for some of Liverpool`s libraries. 

His work is also mentioned and illustrated  in The Studio vols 17 & 21 pages 29, 30.
