Fabulous profusely colourful late 19thC "Anglo-Indian" 3/4 length silk lined coat jacket of good weight.
Cotton patchwork/crewelwork and "bejewelled" throughout with decorative mirrorwork, including the large fancy brass buttons.
Known as "Kutch" work; probably from Gujarat or Rajestan.
The patchwork panels are made up of different embroidery and applique motifs forming the decoration.
Has had some minor repair work by a specialist fashion & textile conservator; in overall good condition with good strong colours.
