Rare Cotswold School oak magazine rack of flared lattice form & bowed top, by Peter van der Waals; c1930`s. Peter Waals was originallyErnest Gimson`s foreman, before setting up on his own after Gimson`s death and was very highly regarded in his own right. Top architect designers, including CFA Voysey used him to make pieces to his designs. A similar magazine rack, but in walnut, is illustrated in " Ernest Gimson and the Cotswold School of Craftsmen" by Annette Carruthers; Leicester Arts & Museum Services, 2007 , page 67 exh F44.
