A superb pair of Cotswold School oak low two tier bookcases with central shelf divider, with excellent provenance.
These were originally part of the Andrew Keith Collection, sold back in 2005 by Law Fine Art Auctioneers, Lot 258; catalogued as by the Cotswold craftsman, Sidney Barnsley (as in Gimson & Barnsley).
The sale comprised furnishings from the Andrew Keith Collection which were originally commissioned by his great uncle, the Edwardian architect and garden designer, Robert Weir Schultz (1860-1951) from Gimson & others (Gimson was his friend), for his home at The Barn, Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.
Approx 28" high, 37.5" wide, 10.25"depth. Possibly reduced in height, although there was no indication of this in the original sale catalogue.
