She won 2nd prize for this (silver medallist) at the National Art Competition in 1914. There is small label to the base of the cabinet (see images - look closely!) to record such.
There luckily is a full biography of her by William Connelly in the Imaginative Book Illustration Society journal of 2009 (see images) which makes a note of this lovely cabinet.
Grace Lodge was also later famous an an illustrator for many of Enid Blyton's books.
From the Artists Biographies website:
"Painter and illustrator born in Egham, Surrey, the daughter of a mathematician. Grace studied at Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art, Regent Street London under George Percival Gaskell.
As an illustrator, she contributed to Royal Magazine as early as 1913 and continued with book covers and with books by Enid Blyton and with work for the Oxford University Press.
It is thought that Lodge exhibited her work only twice. Once at the Royal Academy in 1918 and also at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibition of Modern Art held at the Walker Art Gallery in 1919.
