Stanley Webb Davies/Cotswold School cabinet
Excellent quality Cotswold School glazed display cabinet in Indian laurel wood (very similar to walnut),
by Stanley Webb Davies (1894-1978); labeled, c1935, with its original key.
Glazed latticed two door upper section, with mirrored back, over two small drawers; the whole raised on square sectioned legs. Design No. 1960.
Stanley Webb Davies , an Oxford University graduate, came from a wealthy Lancashire mill owning family and had originally joined the workshop of Arthur Romney Green in 1920 for approximately three years, before setting up on his own, both designing and making his own furniture up at Windermere in the Lake District.
