Liberty & Co (unlabelled) oak Arts & Crafts barrel shaped tub chair with a series of vertical splats terminating in shaped feet; very much in the manner of Baillie Scott designs.
This model is known as "The Stanmore" and is illustrated in the Liberty & Co Yuletide Gifts Catalogue of 1900.
Similar illustrated in " British Furniture" by Pauline Agius page 137, known there as "The Tenaty" chair by Goodearl Brothers c1905. Another Liberty & Co example was shown at the Liberty Arts & Crafts selling exhibition in 2006 exh no 49. Also illustrated in the new Liberty`s Furniture 1875-1915 book pub by The Antique Collectors Club, p179.
Of very good colour & age patination.
