Rare oak framed early 20thC Arts & Crafts fire-screen with beautifully executed silk-work and linen panel to an original CFA Voysey design, “ Garden of Eden .
There are at least two colour-way versions of the original design in the Prints & Drawings archive at the V&A Study Rooms (refs E302-1974 and E1366-1976). Additionally, a drawing of this design is in the RIBA Voysey archives (also now at the V&A) with Voyseys annotation “Sold to Tompkinson”, carpet and textiles manufacturers of the period and to whom Voysey supplied other designs.
An identical design of the textile is now in the collection of Crab Tree Farms in America
