A rare & original late 19thC cast iron "bird" ventilation grill designed by CFA Voysey.
The grill, at some point in the distant past, been adapted to be used as a (very useful) trivet, hence its current form. Naturally, can easily be unscrewed if need be and re-used as a ventilation grill or mounted & framed etc as a highly decorative piece.
Recently exhibited at Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House in The Lake District in
Height approx 6". Grill itself approx 10.25" by 7 and 3/8".
Also has an unusual "branded" mark; possibly the mark of the house it originally came from.
