A very good & rare pair of oak Arts & Crafts chairs by the German architect designer, Richard Riemerschmid, famous for his iconic “ Music Room” chair that he designed c1898 and later also adapted by Liberty & Co.
Shaped raked back with typical stylized heart cut-out and typical "kick in" feet. These chairs were designed in 1902 and manufactured by the Deutche Werkstatten fur Handwerkskunst, Dresden.
Good colour and patination. The Musee d`Orsay in Paris has one of these chairs in their collection.
