Arthur Simpson of Kendal bookshelf cabinet

A really superb quality, unusual and strikingly elegant, large, wall hanging bookshelf cabinet unit; 

by Arthur  Simpson of Kendal, c1910.

Tall central cupboard with Celtic carving to door, over a single drawer, flanked by two tier open book shelves with dust flaps. Elongated tapering  Voyseyesque end column support uprights terminating in carved finials, supporting the main bookshelf unit itself with stylized pierced backsplats; the whole on stylized curved lower supports. Simpson handles and heart shaped escutcheon.
