An early period rare Scottish Arts & Crafts vernacular style oak armchair of pegged construction and a drawer to one side;
designed by the Scottish architect-designer, Sir Robert Stodart Lorimer; c1895-1900.
Most likely made by William Wheeler of Arncroach.
Similar/same chairs (only difference is a wavy shape back splat either end) exist in The National Museum of Scotland
and another in Lorimer's family home at Kellie Castle in Fife.
